It's been two weeks since our last big snow storm (50cm) but its taken that long for me to be able to finally get to the point where I can talk about it without crying. I have now lost track of the number of major snow dumps that Fredericton has received and they are in fact on the verge of another one as I write this entry. I have been lucky because I have spent much of the winter on PEI where they have only received a fraction of the snow that Fredericton has to this point. Tracy has not been so fortunate. When I first moved to NB there where signs that should have indicated that something was amiss; no one shovels sidewalks, the 6 ft high flags attached to fire hydrants, the traffic signs along the snowmobile paths, and the lack of property fences. What is the point in having a fence when 4+ months of the year it's totally buried under snow. If I am sounding bitter, it's because I am. Florida with its rising unemployment rate, disasterous mortgage meltdown and hurricane prone climate is sounding really good about now.
For you to truly appreciate where I am coming from I have attached a few photos of the last big dig.
